CLC pledges 20% of all operating profit back into local non-profit organizations that focus on homelessness and affordable housing. We believe real estate is a vehicle that can sustainably serve the community through consistent cash flow and development capital, benefiting both our investors and the city we invest in.
OUR CORE VALUES
Community revitalization: We believe there is a significant need for the revitalization of communities by investing in properties that have been neglected, left in disrepair, or unsuitably zoned. In many cases, the existing zoning laws in a distressed area may be outdated or too restrictive, making it difficult or even impossible to revitalize the area. With our long-term goals, we are patient in changing the urban fabric to create revitalization.
Community responsive housing: Cities change every day, but one constant is the development of housing. Therefore, housing requires constant efforts in rethinking what the community needs. We take into account the unique cultural, social, and economic characteristics of the community and seek to provide the appropriate range of housing options that will allow for affordable, accessible, and high-quality living. We strive to address the shortage of affordable housing and continue to contribute to the revitalization of distressed communities.
Community investments: Philanthropy is an essential component of any revitalization effort, as it provides the resources and support needed to create positive change and improve the quality of life for residents. There are communities that are in need of investment but are not being served by traditional sources of funding. We desire to see philanthropic investments serve as a catalyst for additional investment from other sources, including governments, businesses, and the communities themselves. While addressing social and economic issues directly through housing, we aspire to build community partnerships that provide a platform for collaboration that ensures all voices are being heard.
